DARKNESS ASPIRES TO AMBER,

dark omnivore's dark lairs,

barred char breaks form; aslumber,

the peak’s deep-steeped in cares.

In undredged silt unlocked

a warning leaking out?

Was that crunch in the clock?

Time falls mute, jutting proud,

payback time gently fated,

of balsam fables bidden,

time, bridgehead understated

as drowsed en-route to Eden.

My heart is rusting. Why,

am I to grime akin?

Am I at fault? Reply,

my shortfall, dark within!
