THIRTY SEVENTH EVOCATION

once the dark nights will have fused with the bright

once the time will its purpose entertain

not to expose our skeletal remains

but to make sure white jasmine will not blight

by seeming to us like mere common blood

once clear outspoken come the words revealing

Nature to kneel before, her church revering

once we regret for coffins to use wood

once bones of words in major chords break through

once we suck them all dry the marrow gleaning

once the so longed-for stone brings closer meaning

once God, grown wholly cold, will glow anew

then kiss me so I may wake up in time

I need just you and a plain simple rhyme
