ASININE

Since the ass can at times be chary,

and seem a little stubborn, see,

he’s been dubbed stupid and contrary,

and mud, thrown, sticks, you will agree.

But the ass doesn’t give a tuppence

for false aspersions; so feel free.

If tables turned, as sometimes happens,

would you be quite as wise as he?
