To rise as a leafless tree,

no bends, no branches.

彎曲和枝杈都是毫無必要的

A fearsome tree,

這是一棵多麼可怕的樹呀

with neither nests nor ants.

沒有鳥兒築巢，也沒有蟲蟻

Denying its treeness,

它否定了樹

making immortal timber.

卻長成了一根不朽之木
