BYLO TO NEDÁVNO, TEPRVE PŘED PÁR DNY

NOT THAT FAR BACK IT WAS, JUST A FEW DAYS GONE BY

seděla opodál v příšeří vinárny

in the winebar half-lit there she sat quite nearby

furt na mě koukala, byla dost opilá

she had her eyes on me looked like she’d drunk too much

řek jsem si, že by se snad ještě vzchopila

so I thought to myself maybe she’d have the touch

Ve stavu, kdy už se pode mnou motá zem

Though I was in that state when the ground moves in waves

přisedl jsem si k ní (se slušným dotazem)

I sat beside her asked (with a nice turn of phrase)

a s pěnou u huby jak bych měl vzteklinu

and with foam at the mouth much like a rabid cur

vjel jsem jí pod sukni dlaní až ke klínu

I put my palm up her skirt right up you know where

Poněkud pasivní (i to mi přišlo vhod)

A little passively (usefully I may say)

lhostejná, se zrakem upřeným v jeden bod

frigidly, fixedly she kept her stare away

dělala jako že nic to s ní nedělá

making out that it made no impression at all

alespoň zpočátku, když ještě seděla

at least to start with while sitting, before her fall

…Zůstala pod stolem, punčochy u kolen

vstal jsem a pil jsem dál (aspoň já ukojen)

I stood up to drink more (one of us pleased at least)

potom ji odnesli. A pořád čuměla!

then they took her away. Still staring open-eyed!

snad, v lepším případě, byla jen umělá…
