树木因其砍击而鸣响，

After whose stroke the wood rings,

且回声荡漾！

And the echoes!

自树心荡开，

Echoes traveling

回声群马般四散。

Off from the center like horses.

液汁

The sap

泉涌如泪，又像

Wells like tears, like the

潭水勉力

Water striving

在落石处

To re-establish its mirror

重展它的镜面。

Over the rock

石块下落、翻滚，

That drops and turns,

一只白脑壳，

A white skull,

被多草的绿水吞没。

Eaten by weedy greens.

多年后，我

Years later I

邂逅它们于路上——

Encounter them on the road—-

词儿，干枯而无人驾驭，

Words dry and riderless,

不疲不倦的蹄音。

The indefatigable hoof-taps.

与此同时

While

恒定的星自那潭水深处

From the bottom of the pool, fixed stars
