金重，原名郭钟，诗人，翻译家，画家。1962年12 月生于哈尔滨。1986年至1989 年就读于北京外国语学院英语系，获英美文学硕士学位。1989年6月2日通过论文答辩，留校任教。1991年12月移居美国加利福尼亚圣地亚哥。金重1981年开始写诗。1988年，翻译布罗茨基的作品并发表于《世界文学》。二十世纪八十年代开始翻译中国诗人作品，他是多多、王家新、莫非作品在国内最早的英文译者，于1993 年
