more precious

than a wet rose

single on a stem—

you are caught in the drift.

矮小的细叶，

你被扬抛在沙滩上，

Stunted, with small leaf,

细碎的砂砾之间

you are flung on the sand,

你被风驱使着

you are lifted

掀起。

in the crisp sand

that drives in the wind.

炽烈的玫瑰能否

萃出这般辛烈的芬芳，

Can the spice-rose

凝于叶间？

drip such acrid fragrance

hardened in a leaf?
