than a wet rose

single on a stem—

you are caught in the drift.

矮小的细叶，

Stunted, with small leaf,

你被扬抛在沙滩上，

you are flung on the sand,

细碎的砂砾之间

you are lifted

你被风驱使着

in the crisp sand

掀起。

that drives in the wind.

炽烈的玫瑰能否

Can the spice-rose

萃出这般辛烈的芬芳，

drip such acrid fragrance

凝于叶间？

hardened in a leaf?
