光闪过了

The light passes

从一座桥到另一座桥，

from ridge to ridge,

从一朵花到另一朵花——

from flower to flower—

海泊提丝盛开着

the hepaticas, wide-spread

在光下

under the light

渐渐暗淡——

grow faint—

花瓣向里伸展，

the petals reach inward,

蔚蓝的尖端折卷着

the blue tips bend

弯向更蓝的花蕊，

toward the bluer heart

花就这样完结了。

and the flowers are lost.

康纳尔花蕾依然洁白

The cornel-buds are still white,

但影子从

but shadows dart

康纳尔的根部冒了上来——

from the cornel-roots—

黑色从一根根蔓爬行到另一根根，

black creeps from root to root,

每一片叶子

each leaf

在草上割着另一片叶子，

cuts another leaf on the grass,

影子寻求影子，

shadow seeks shadow,

接着两片叶子

then both leaf

和叶子的影子都消失了。

and leaf-shadow are lost.
