The current sweeps as always

向大海

by the banks

而你，始終沒有靠岸

unto the sea.

轉過峭壁

You never pull ashore

撫平了

but round each cliff face,

岩塊

big rocks sliding past,

轉過一重山

one curtain of mountains

又一重山

opening to the next.

擱在亂石的淺灘

The boat grounds on a pebbled shoal

迴旋折騰

amid unending eddies.

你轉身涉足

You step off,

就過去了

vanishing

回響，激起浪花

into these echoes, this spray.

我在船緣接聽

Through the hull

我醒在時空透明的江水間

audible time,

clear river water.
