我們挨著在草叢裏躺下，

look up at the cloverheads

and arrowy blades,

看樹葉和雲朵

the pale, furred undersides

of leaves and clouds.

成為一粒種子真神奇，

Strange to be a seed, and the whole

面對整個生命的成長，

ascent still before us,

就像童年時

as in childhood

一切事物都很近

when everything is near

又很遠，

or very far,

一隻徐徐爬行的昆蟲

and the crawling insect

一堂無聲的課。

a lesson in silence.

可能不會再有

And maybe not again

明澈如水的眼神，

that look clear as water,

你肩上的太陽，

the sun on your shoulder

當我們站起身來

when we rise,

抖落滿身的草，

shaken free of the grass,

高高的在這初放的綠色清晨。

tall in the first green morning.
