光

The light passes

从山脊传向山脊，

from ridge to ridge,

从花传向花——

from flower to flower—

雪割草，花瓣怒张

the hepaticas, wide-spread

在光中

under the light

渐渐变淡——

grow faint—

花瓣向里，

the petals reach inward,

蓝色的尖端弯曲

the blue tips bend

伸向更蓝的花心

toward the bluer heart

于是这些花消失了。

and the flowers are lost.

山茱萸的蓓蕾依然嫩白，

The cornel-buds are still white,

但是阴影

but shadows dart

从山茱萸的根射过来——

from the cornel-roots—

黑影从根爬到根，

black creeps from root to root,

每片叶子

each leaf

切割草地上另一片叶子，

cuts another leaf on the grass,

阴影寻找阴影，

shadow seeks shadow,

于是花叶

then both leaf

和花叶的影子都消失了。

and leaf-shadow are lost.
