叶子虽然繁多，根茎却只一条；

Though leaves are many, the root is one;

在青年时代说谎的日子里，

Through all the lying days of my youth

我把我的花和叶在阳光里招摇；

I swayed my leaves and flowers in the sun;

现在，我不妨凋萎成真理。

Now I may wither into the truth.
